Kloeber worked closely with Harvey Norman Architects on this modern extension to a Victorian House in Cambridge. The brief was to create a light, airy living and dining room with a playroom which could be closed off to the rest of the house. To the rear of the playroom the clients wanted to add a downstairs cloakroom and utility area.
The two sets of Aluminum Kustomfold bifold doors were taller than normal height matching to the high-ceilinged rooms and maximising light from the courtyard garden.
The timber interfold bifold doors were manufactured to the same height as the Aluminium bifold doors to provide consistency. To create a more private room when they were closed and to hide the playroom, the glazing was chosen in an opaque finish.
This Aluminium casement window matches the one in the utility area on the ground floor but with the added interest of being in a leaded surround to give make the elevation more aesthetically pleasing.
