Choosing which patio doors are the best option for you can feel like a tricky task! Once you’ve made your choice, you’re then faced with another host of decisions including the material you want to go for, colour, and ironmongery.

If you’ve landed on this post, our guess is you’re seriously considering some beautiful new French doors, and who could blame you! Our French doors provide a chic and elegant feature for any home – whether you’ve got a traditional victorian cottage or a more contemporary property. Check out some of our previous French door projects – they vary from the modern and minimalist to the classic and prove that these doors are a brilliant choice for any home.

So, let’s talk French door colour options – because this is going to be one of your main design considerations and it’s a pretty important one to get right.

What French door colour options are available?

With our French doors – there are three material options; Timber, Aluminium and Alu-clad.

Let’s start by taking a look at our aluminium French door colour options…

Our aluminium French doors are factory powder finished in any RAL colour which enables you real creative freedom when it comes to selecting the perfect shade for your home!

If you want to stick with one of the popular classics you might be interested in mid grey, anthracite grey, black, or white. These are failsafe options that won’t ever date – and they look pretty great too…

Grey is always a popular choice among our customers, and it looks particularly striking against the white render. Check out the full RAL colour chart to discover all of the different shades of grey available.

We love how this client has matched their grey French doors to the grey of their beautiful kitchen – how stunning is this space? The doors and windows allow for the light to flood in and create an even larger sense of open space. We’re a little envious of that island too…

If you’re looking for something a little more colourful, the world is your oyster – as our French doors are created bespoke to you – you can go as wild as you like with your colour choice!

Pinks, reds and purples

Blush pink is set to be one of the new must-have shades for the home so why not go for a subtle pink for your French doors and channel the Cottagecore trend? Or perhaps something a little bolder such as Raspberry Red?

Yellows and oranges

Feeling really brave? A pop of yellow is a surefire way to brighten up your home…

Blues

After a coastal vibe? Some of our lighter shades of blue are perfect for channelling that nautical theme or perhaps a deeper shade of blue such as Black blue or Grey blue would be more up your street? These shades are ideal if you want to add a bit of colour but keep it fairly subtle.

Greens

We love these stunning green shades and they’re just perfect for integrating your home with nature! Reed Green is a favourite of ours and looks beautiful on period properties for that countryside feel.

Browns

Or perhaps a shade of brown will better suit your taste? Brown doesn’t have to mean traditional either, you could opt for a slightly more vibrant shade such as ‘Copper Brown’ which has a gorgeous orangey/red tinge to it.

And what about dual colour options for aluminium French doors?

The good news is we do offer a dual colour option for our aluminium French doors and this means you can choose to have the inside and outside of the frames in different colours. This gives you the possibility to match your interior decor with your French doors.

Do I have the same colour options for Alu-Clad French Doors?

Our alu-clad/composite French doors are a popular option among our customers, giving you the best of both worlds with an aluminium outer and timber inner. When it comes to colour options, you still have the whole RAL colour chart to select from too. The internal timber is also factory finished with a choice of a transparent finish, white painted or a RAL paint colour.

We think the transparent finish looks great – as seen here – but of course, the choice is yours!

Timber French door colour options

And last, but certainly not least, we have our timber French doors.

Our timber French doors are available in Softwood, Meranti and Oak and come with a choice of ANY RAL colour or you can select from a number of wood stains including the ones below.

Some stains will look better with certain types of wood so depending on the wood you select, you may wish to speak to our team about which wood stain to pick.

Can I have the Dual Colour Option with Timber French Doors?

The simple answer is: yes! You can choose to have a different colour on the inside of your doors, which allows you to match your French doors to your interior colour scheme, just like our aluminium French doors.

Don’t these pastel French doors look lovely? A subtle shade, yet it really finishes off the exterior look of this beautiful home.

Of course, you can never go wrong with classic white – these French doors, along with the Georgian bars, add a touch of elegance to this property. Teamed with the roof lights, it really brightens up the living space.
