Whether you’re renovating your home, a self-builder or just looking to make a few home improvements, Instagram is undoubtedly a huge source of inspiration when it comes to home styling. Giving us an insight into the homes of interior designers and enthusiasts, it’s the perfect place to find new ideas and get inspired for your own home!

We’ve done the hard work so you don’t have to, and rounded up our top tips (with a little help from some experts!) when it comes to styling your home and creating an Instagrammable space…

Enjoy open-plan living

Open plan living has become incredibly popular in recent years, and it’s easy to see why. Giving you the ability to increase the natural light in your home to create a bright and airy living situation that feels more spacious. The only problem some people face is how to style a large open space without it looking cluttered, confused and disjointed. Take inspiration from warboys_selfbuildhome and their beautiful open plan living room, dining area and kitchen! By sticking with a tonal colour scheme the space works in harmony to create a cohesive feel. The use of the large rug also helps to define the space and we love the addition of plants and pampas to bring a little nature in the home. And to finish it off? Kloeber sliding doors of course! Allowing the light to flood through this stunning self-build.

Add a bold colour

Give your home something to be remembered by, in the case of this beautiful home, it’s their striking yellow FunkyFront door! Also known as ourhousewiththeyellowdoor on Instagram, this statement door already adds intrigue to the home just by looking at the exterior. If you’re more of a minimalist with your interior but still want to play with a little colour, you could go for our dual colour option, choosing a bright and vibrant colour for the outside, and a more subtle neutral for the inside to match your interior design.

Relax on a jewel-toned velvet sofa

Take note from interior design guru and renovator lauracrombie and her beautiful velvet seating. The perfect way to add warmth and a touch of luxe to your home is a statement sofa, and we love this shade of navy blue. Forest green and burnt orange also work really well too, so if you’re thinking of giving your sofa an upgrade, why not consider a similar style to Laura’s? We can also spy some Kloeber French doors there…

Blur the boundaries

Your outside space is just as important as your indoors, so why not blur the boundaries and create a seamless transition from inside to out with a little help from your flooring and your glazing! Bifold doors are an excellent way to achieve this connection from inside to out, thanks to their accordion-style opening, you can essentially open up a wall of your home which is great especially for those who love to host and entertain guests. Team your bifolds doors with a flush tile flooring that runs from inside to out just like this lovely home to really achieve that harmonious flow between your two spaces.

Play with powder pink

Powder pink and salmon tones are hugely popular at the moment, and it looks like that won’t be changing anytime soon. If magnolia isn’t your thing, or your bored of your current colour scheme, then why not give your walls an Instagram worthy look with a beautiful pink shade just like homefromhole? We also love how they’ve teamed their pink walls with a wonderful green tiled fireplace and green velvet chair, home styling perfection.

Open up your home with glazing

One of the key aspects of any Instagrammable home is good lighting, and the only way to truly achieve a bright living space is through your glazing. We’re obsessed with this stunning home featuring our ÜberSlide sliding doors to finish off this fantastic extension and light up the home! Not only does this property now benefit from extra natural light thanks to the high ratio of glass (and 20mm sightlines!) it has totally transformed the living space, opening up the home to the garden and creating a seamless connection between the two.

Add a contrasting wall

Contrast your white and bright walls with a striking dark feature wall just like house_number5 have done with this gorgeous shade of navy! It’s a bold move but the risk definitely pays off when you have a kitchen that looks as fresh as this one! The wooden star and shelving really finishes off the look, adds a personal touch and makes an otherwise nothing wall a real feature. The burnt orange chairs look fabulous teamed with the navy too!

Introduce natural materials

Natural materials such as seagrass, wicker and rattan are very on-trend at the moment, and they’re a great way to integrate your home with nature, and not to mention eco-friendly too! We love this beautiful rattan lampshade and table mats, subtle yet effective. Combined with that beautiful view of the countryside, thanks to a Kloeber window, leaving us with major home envy!
