Get to know team Kloeber!
Here’s round seven of our ‘Meet the team’ series, so you can get to know a bit more about team Kloeber! Last time, we caught up with our Sales Director, Dan Todd, and today we’re chatting with our Accounts Assistant, Kerry Miller. Let’s go…
When did you start working with Kloeber?
What does a day in the life of an Accounts Assistant look like?
I’m in contact with most of the departments on a daily basis depending on what I’m working on and what kind of information I need. I mainly keep the sales ledger ticking over, keep my eye on stock movements and I’m involved in preparing our monthly management accounts. Our small tight-knit team of three are at HQ two days a week and work from home for the rest. For me it’s a nice balance as I’m more productive at home but still like to see everyone face to face when we’re back in the office, that’s one thing I missed in lockdown.
What advice do you have for someone wanting to get into accounting?
There are many branches of accountancy so decide on which path you want to go down and work hard to get to where you want to be. Another thing to think about is the fact that nearly every company has an accounts department so the choice of the type of company you could work for is endless
What’s been your career highlight so far?
Passing the last wave of exams, ready for the next level.
If you could turn back time and restart your career, would you change anything?
I wouldn’t. The decisions you make in the here and now shape your future. Not all the decisions you make are going to be the best ones but that’s how you learn
What would you do with 15 minutes of fame?
I’m not in any way, shape or form musically gifted (quite the opposite) but I’d love to perform on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.
If you could meet one person (dead or alive) who would it be?
The wonderfully gifted, humorous, imaginative author Sir Terry Pratchett
What’s the one thing in life you couldn’t live without?
Friendship. It’s a totally cheesy saying but it’s true “Friends are the family you choose”
What advice would you give to your teenage self?
I wouldn’t know where to start, the list is long.
Tell us one thing that people aren’t likely to know about you?
I’m a PADI Assistant Scuba Diving Instructor. I’ve dived all over the world and have experienced the most incredible underwater adventures that will stay with me forever
Thanks, Kerry! Stay tuned for our next Meet the Team blog…
